Nobody has unlimited funds when it comes to marketing. Even if you have a big back account, you really shouldn’t just dump every dollar that you have into marketing without having some sort of plan. We truly do understand how badly you would like to promote your business in any way possible, but you are going to have to find ways to accomplish this in an efficient and effective way. You don’t have to spend tons of money on marketing to be very successful. Trust me, we know from experience. We have gone through different paths with our very own business ventures. There have been times where we spent tons of money on marketing, and other times we spent little to nothing. Don’t get me wrong; we are not saying spending a lot of money won’t work. What we are saying is that there are plenty of different marketing tactics that you can use that won’t break the bank. Here are some low-budget strategies to help promote your company. We have seen results from these methods and those we helped with our consulting work.



Create Videos

 

When it comes down to it, it may seem like you have to spend a good chunk of time and money on video content. This is not the case. You can do this yourself without hiring professionals or wasting money on fancy equipment. You can more than likely get away with just using a smartphone to record anything you need. If you do want to invest some money in some equipment, you can buy a decent camera and microphone. Nothing over the top, and nothing too fancy.

 

There is an article I read that says nearly 50% of all markets believe that video content helps them with audience engagement. That same article states that articles that contain video content get over 75% more traffic than articles without video content. This is the perfect time to hop on the trend. Around half of the consumer market browses the internet for videos related to the products or services they are looking for before they buy something. This is a sign that you shouldn’t just make one video and be done with it. Make as many as you possibly can to help boost your chances of your business or product being discovered.

 

One reason that we personally love to see people use video content is because it can be so versatile. It is simple to distribute all your videos across all your different marketing channels. A great way to start is to upload your videos to YouTube first, and then what you can do is embed the videos on your website or social media. You can also send any videos to people on your email subscription list. If you are wondering what kind of videos you should make, you should upload something that shows your brand in a positive light. You don’t want your existing customers or any potential customers to think negatively about you or your business.

One of the biggest mistakes I see businesses and owners make is that they neglect their social media platforms. One of the best platforms you can post on is Instagram. Instagram is by far one of the best social media platforms you can use for marketing your business. The platform has more than 2.3 billion daily active users. It is also pretty simple to post content on Instagram. Unlike a blog that you are reading currently, which can end up taking hours to write and do research for, Instagram is just posting pictures. In 2022, the percent of businesses in the United States ended up placing Instagram as the 4th highest for user visitors per month.

 

Companies are starting to recognize how important and valuable Instagram is. If you are not pursuing customers on Instagram, you can almost guarantee that your competition is going to be. Other than Instagram being free to use, posting any pictures and videos on your page is pretty simple, but thankfully, your reach doesn’t just stop there. You can post content on your story and Instagram reels. This is great if you want your customers to see something for a limited time rather than make a post about it. An example of something like this would be if you were doing a flash sale on, say, Cyber Monday. You would post something as your story so that everyone can see you are doing a sale, but then it goes away as soon as the sale is over. You can also add links to your bio to help drive traffic to your website. Instagram gives you a great opportunity to respond directly to your followers through direct messages and comments.

 

Email Subscriber List

 

Most companies collect email addresses and have an active subscriber list that they send updates or promotion emails to. You need to make sure that you are taking advantage of this. This is a service and list that you are already paying for, so why not use it? Depending on what platform you may or may not use, there could be a good chance that you are being charged per subscriber. And once you hit a particular threshold, your monthly annual cost will increase. This is fine. A growing subscriber list is very good news for you. These are going to be the people who want to hear from you and get news from you. The majority of people on your list are more than likely your current customers. Oftentimes, we see businesses trying to focus on acquiring new customers instead of focusing on their existing ones. This is a huge mistake. Not only is it going to be the hardest to sell to new customers, but it can also be more expensive. One of the best benefits of email marketing is that it has a huge return on investment compared to other methods.

 

Recycle Content

 

If you truly are tapped out on money or have low funds and time, it can be pretty hard to figure out ways to market yourself and your company. You can reuse some old content to stay fresh. A good example of this is posting pictures from a few years ago of projects you have worked on. You can even say “Throwback” to let your customers know that you are posting an older thing. If you have conducted any research and have data, you can turn the data into some graphs, charts, and even infographics. Dig deep through some marketing materials and see if you have anything you can post while you are running low on ideas or money.
